The Pitzer Center for Theoretical Chemistry was funded by the Kenneth Pitzer Foundation. The new labs use computer based technologies to model microscopic behavior of complex biological and material systems. The computer labs provide space for three person graduate teams. Each computer lab has its own contemplative balcony area. There are two common spaces where teams can congregate in larger spaces to share and discuss their research. Each common area has video screens and video conferencing capabilities for inner lab discussions as well as the ability to link up with other research labs throughout the world.
